Bio
Kristi Taylor was interested in painting and drawing from an early age, pursued an education in art and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Concentration in Painting from East Tennessee State University in 1999. Always seeking new avenues for expression and recognizing the complimentary nature of fine art and visual communication, she embraced new media and has achieved success in web, graphic and software interface design which has transformed into powerful inspiration for her art.
Kristi's design experience is reflected in her painting process with color as the uniting element. Her intuitive painting process results in the fine tuned color palettes and rich textures which serves to define her style. The primary imagery found in Kristi's work is rooted in philosophy but the abstract nature intentionally leaves room for individual interpretation.
Recent work is acrylic on canvas or paper but has expertise and enjoys a variety of mediums including oils, watercolors, gouache, printmaking techniques, sculpture, ceramics and numerious drawing mediums. Each piece available on this site is on artist paper or gallery wrapped canvas with 1.5" wooden stretchers. Canvas sides are painted black and each is wired for hanging. Canvases are intended to be displayed unframed but framing by the collector is always optional. |
